The family of Mr Saadoon Thabih Farhan are living under very difficult circumstances. They were living in a rented house but due to the illness of the father they were forced to leave the rented house and move to live in a room in the house of the wife’s family. The father is in heart failure following a heart attack and he needs 100,000 IQD (approx £53) monthly to pay for his treatment. He is bedridden and unable to work. The wife is diabetic and suffering from high blood pressure. They do not have any source of income except the social care salary that they receive every three months and it is not enough to meet the daily needs of the family. They have neither a fridge nor gas cooker.

The family consists of 5 members, the parents and 3 children (two girls in a primary school and a little boy of 4). The family have no one to support them following the illness of the father.
