As part of the regular inspection visits carried out by the staff of Sadr City Centre in order to assess the wellbeing of orphans registered with the centre, the staff visited these six orphans who are desperate for help and support.

They lost their father a few years ago and their mother recently passed away suddenly. They are a family of six siblings, four of them are young children.

The eldest brother Mohammed Fareed Abdul Amir has taken the responsibility of supporting the family  as best as possible.  He is working as a cleaner earning a daily wage.  The elder sister is taking care of their daily requirements.

The family is in desperate need of a monthly sponsor to help them with a regular income of IQD 300,000 (approx £176).  This is the minimum amount required to provide them with a decent standard of living, including their food and medication needs.  They are also in need of the basic domestic appliances that cost in the region of IQD 500,000 (approx £294)
