Mrs Sooma Abbas attended Basra Centre to appeal for charity and ask for some of basic household items that her family direly needs (a cooker, a television, a water heater and a heater). She cannot afford to buy these because of the hardships they are enduring.

Sooma has previously received humanitarian aid from donors which was spent on clothing and food for her children. The family do not have a steady income aside from that which the mosque donates to them, which amounts to £20 (30,000 IQD) a month, which is not enough to meet the expenses of the household and her children every month.

She hopes that the community will hear her plea and donate enough for the essential supplies for her and her children:

- Financial assistance to the value of £200 (300,000 IQD approx) to pay for the cooker and heater, especially with the coming of winter.

- Financial assistance of £133 (200,000 IQD approx) to buy a refrigerator.
