Family of seven appeal for help
Staff from the branch visited the family of Mr. Haidar A.A. to assess the family’s living conditions.
The family consists of seven members, some of their children attend school. They live in a rented house which costs 250,000 IQD (approx. £140), per month. The house lacks some necessary appliances, which they cannot afford to buy due to their poor financial condition.
The family suffers from a life filled with troubles and difficulties. They do not have any source of income, apart from a small wage Haidar earns to pay for the family’s basic needs. Despite his old age, the father is a construction worker. Life has forced him to work intermittently.
One of his daughters has a disability (congenital cerebral palsy). She has special needs, and requires regular treatment. Haider receives a small payment from social welfare, but this is not sufficient to meet his needs.
