Basra Branch:
Mother of four orphans appeals for goodness and mercy
Basra Branch staff visited the family of the widow Wurood S. H. They live in a rented house costing 200,000 IQD (approx. £125) monthly. Wurood’s husband left four orphans in her care after he died a year ago. Some of her children still attend school.
Their home lacks basic amenities, which she cannot provide because of the family’s extreme poverty. They do not have any financial income nor receive a social service allowance. They are totally reliant on the mercy and help they receive from some charitable people. Sadly this is not enough to meet their needs.
Wurood is willing to work hard to earn an income to provide for her children. She is keen to teach students at her home in order to earn a living and support her family. Further she mentioned that she has the ability, and is willing, to work on a small project, such as selling ice cream, but she needs financial support to setup her project
The family suffers from a life of hardship and poverty.
