Widow and her orphans continue to appeal for help to reduce their suffering
Ongoing distress call published previously.
Staff from Basra Branch paid a routine follow-up visit to Hamida M. A. and her family They discovered that this widow and her orphans continue to suffer from harsh living conditions, despite a previous special appeal for support.
The widow and her four orphans live in a single small room in Hamida’s sister's house. Some of the orphans still attend full-time education.
This poor family does not have any financial income except for the help they receive from benevolent people, which is not enough to meet their needs.
To support this family, they desperately need:
- Monthly orphan sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan (x4) per month.
- A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £90) to buy mattresses.
- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a cooker.
- A donation of 300.000 IQD (approx. £175) to buy a refrigerator.
The branch staff and the widow's family appeal for help to overcome some of their difficult living conditions.
