Sadr city Advice Centre celebrates the fourth women’s sewing class graduation
20/06/2013

Baghdad Citizens Advice and Care Centre (Sadr city branch)

Centre staff held a celebratory ceremony to honour the graduates of the fourth sewing class group where they were presented with certificates showing their skills progression in sewing and their ability to make clothes.

The ceremony began with recitations from the Holy Qur’an followed by a general knowledge quiz. Prizes were then handed out to the winners of the competition and the ceremony ended with providing details of further schemes and classes to be run by the centre.

Additionally, in light of the continuing cooperation between the Citizens Advice Centre in Sadr city and the health centre in the area, there has been an agreement on plans for health visits. This means that an official from the health centre will make regular visits to the Care and Advice Centre for the purpose of informing and educating people about health issues which affect them. Raising awareness within the community of illnesses and how to deal with them is very important and much-needed.
