Baghdad – Citizens Care and Advice Centre (Sadr city branch)
The young girl, Malak Saad Kathum, is three years old and suffers from pneumonia and has extra fluid in her eyes. She needs to drink five packs of special milk called Cerelac each month, with each pack costing 10,000 Iraqi Dinars.
Malak’s father is employed but his wages barely cover the living costs of his wife and four children. He takes Malak to the doctor twice weekly in order to have the the excess fluid in her eyes removed. In addition Malak’s mother suffers from rheumatism in her bones.
Out of desperation, Malak’s mother turned to the Care and Advice centre in Sadr city to seek help with her daughter’s ever-worsening condition. And so we forward her plea to you; if you can help with the cost of Malak’s milk or in any other way can you please get in touch.
