Happy Eid!

 Gifts for 1100 Orphans 2007

At the Iraqi Charities Forum we feel strongly about relieving people’s distress and raising their spirits in such troubling times. On the occasion of Eid Al Fitr 2007 ICF made a campaign to collect donations to buy gifts for many orphans of Iraq. Contributions totaled to $44,000. 1100 $40 gift packages were distributed to 1100 orphans.  

Iraqi Charities Forum collaborated with three charities in Kerbala: Fatima Zahra Foundation, National Foundation for Development and the Akh Charitable Institution for the care of Orphans and the Needy. Mr. Fadhel Abbas Salami, the Vice-President of the Iraqi Charities Media Forum monitored and coordinated the Eid Gift Project with three other charitable organizations in Baghdad: The Association of Ahlul Bayt in Rahmaniyah, the Society for the Protection of the Population from Environmental Pollution and the Association of Bani Hashem's affiliated charities.

Without these conscientious, dedicated members of the Iraqi Charities Forum, we would not have been able to have delivered so many gifts to so many orphans on such a special day. Even when times are hard, ICF helps make people smile!
