Urgent appeal: Displaced and hungry - people from Mosul and Telafar, sleep in temporary roadside shelters. A very urgent appeal has been received from the branch manager of Al-Shakiry charity in Al-Najaf, to help the thousands of families displaced from Mosul and Telafar, including our Christian brothers and sisters. Mr Abul-Hasan Al-Sarraf informs that a huge number of families from these regions are staying in community halls along the route between Najaf and Karbala, which extends for about 40 kilometres. The number of displaced families is increasing substantially with many sleeping on empty stomachs and many having fled their homes without even a change of clothes. |
Mr Abdul-Hasan has stressed the urgency of publicizing this appeal, announcing that he will be contributing with a symbolic donation of 50 USD towards this cause. Reports will be featured on social media in an attempt to reach as many people as possible to assist those in dire need.
