During the first week of the current month a group of benefactors donated clothing, food and a sum of money for the benefit of many families of orphans and the needy among the populace of the Al-Grayaat area. What follows are the details:
Firstly, on 5/2/13 at the request of a well-wisher the Centre's staff performed a field visit to observe from close at hand the conditions of five families of orphans in pressing need of assistance. As a result of that, the anonymous well-wisher donated immediately the sum of 1,250,000 Dinars, which was distributed as follows:
1. Needy widow Raqiah Mohammed (mother of two children, one of whom is afflicted with cancer).
2. Needy widow Nuwal Mohammed (mother of five children, one of whom is afflicted with asthma).
3. Needy widow Zainab Mohammed (mother of five children, one of whom is afflicted with atrophy of the thyroid gland and an opening between the coronary ventricles).
4. Needy widow Amina Ismayael (mother to two children, one of whom is afflicted with chronic anaemia and falling blood pressure).
5. Needy widow Wasin Abd Al-Munaam (mother to three children).
Every family received a sum of 50,000 Dinars, with the exception of the widow Nuwal Mohammed who received an additional amount to the value of 1,000,000 Dinars for her urgent need to build a roof for her room.
Secondly, on 7/2/13 a benefactor donated the sum of 250,000 Dinars to the widow Mrs Fa'azah Jawad, that being in addition to a previous sum she received of 500,000 Dinars from the same well-wisher in order for her to open a shop selling foodstuffs.
Thirdly, on the 6-7/2/13 a group of good people donated 190 kilograms of rice distributed among the families of widows, orphans, the disabled and the needy at an average of five kilograms to each family.
Fourthly, on 7/2/13 a needy patient (Amil Dawoud) consulted our Centre and it appeared that she was in urgent need of a financial grant to cover the costs of resting in the Medical City Hospital, those costs being for some of the medicines not present at the hospital and the cost of transport. The volunteers working at the Centre aided her by donating 100,000 Dinars.
