Baghdad – Citizens Advice and Care Centre (Baya Branch)

Following the donation of 1,700,000 Iraqi Dinars ($1500) from an Iraqi benefactor, the Baya branch(One of our branches in Baghdad) were able to negotiate a reduced price for the wholesale purchase of foodstuffs. A total of 85 baskets were prepared costing 20,000 Iraqi Dinars each. These food baskets were then distributed amongst needy widows and their orphaned children earlier this week.

Each food basket consists of the following:

1.     1kg chick peas

2.     1kg beans

3.     1kg lentils

4.     1 can tomato paste

5.     2 litres of cooking oil

6.     One chicken weighing 1.3kgs

7.     30 eggs

8.     pasta and noodles (500g of each)
