Citizen Advice and Care Centre, Najaf Branch.
Staff from the Najaf Centre recently visited the family and widow, Eman Abd Al Hassan Ramadhan, as part of their regular inspection visits to check on their well being and living conditions.
Twenty six year old Eman lives with her four orphaned children, the eldest son being 8 years old. They live in a house (in an abandoned slum area) which costs Eman IQD 150,000/month. There are no provisions for their health and wellbeing.
Eman’s husband passed away a year ago in a car accident. This left her with no one to support her and her family. Recently, she applied for social security benefit and is waiting for her application to be processed.
Eman has asked the advice centre to help her find a job, to cover the family’s expenses and basic living needs. She plans to join the sewing training courses provided by our advice centres, and she will be provided with a sewing machine that will help her in opening a small business to support her family.
But, though Eman is planning on working in the future, she currently needs immediate help. As the video clearly shows Eman’s rented house lacks basic home appliances and furniture for her and the family to lead the most basic existence.
Please help Eman by providing her with the means to buy a water tank, until such time as she is able to stand on her own two feet and provide for her family..
