On Saturday 18th January 2015, a cultural dinner party was held to celebrate the birthday of our holy Prophet, Mohammed (P.B.U.H.)
The event was organized by the Fundraising Team of Shakiry Charity, and the proceeds went towards supporting the vulnerable families of the forced displaced people in Iraq, in particular widows and orphans.
Layla, Media Coordinator of Shakiry Charity, opened the event and welcomed the guests. This was followed by a poem reading praising our holy Prophet P.B.U.H. Thereafter, there was a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran performed by Ikram.
Khalida, our Fundraising Manager, delivered a high powered presentation, complete with photos and videos, which explained in detail the aims and activities of Shakiry Charity.
During the intervals, songs of praise for the holy Prophet P.B.U.H. were performed by Um Akeel and Zahra.
The event proved to be highly successful with guests participating in the various educational, cultural and recreational activities presented by Amaleed, Shakiry Charity Public Relations Officer.
These activities included:
- A competition for the best cultural traditional dress
