At Shakiry Charity, we believe that the happiness of giving is more fulfilling than the happiness of receiving.

Every day there are thousands of orphans and families in Iraq who suffer the kind of hardships you and I read about.  We cannot begin to imagine the sufferings of those in need, the sadness a mother feels when she cannot provide for her children’s basic needs, and how it feels to be hungry every day.

During the holy month of Ramadan and to celebrate Eid al Fitr, Shakiry Charity is providing food relief to needy and vulnerable families. 

To ensure that individual needs are met, this year we will be providing vulnerable families, orphans and forced displaced people with vouchers which they can redeem for food supplies through local stores which have been approved by the charity.

Our target is to deliver 10,000 vouchers – each family receiving 10 vouchers – approximately £30 value in total (IQD 50,000)

We are asking for your support to feed the hungry at this time of Ramadan.  A donation of £30 will bring immeasurable happiness and relief from suffering to one family.  Increments of more than £30 will help to feed more families.

There are many ways that we can receive your donations.  These could be by cash or cheque payment, direct transfer or debit/credit card.
