Needy family cries out for help to relieve their circumstances
20/10/2016     Help No: H080000151

Basra Centre staff undertook a visit to evaluate the circumstances of families in the heart of the city, and whilst there, they reviewed the situation of Mr Sadeq Jaafar; it turns out that the conditions of his family have gone from bad to worse.

The family lives in an empty house that lacks many basic household necessities.  The family comprises of four children who range between 7 and 15 years old. They are students at school and have a lot of needs that their father cannot meet because of a lack of financial resources. The father tries, but he is unable to provide for the family’s living or treatment costs.

In addition to thid, his wife is sick and her condition has worsened due to his lack of ability to pay for the bills of an examination and treatment. She is suffering as her thyroid is doing twice the amount of work due to her exposure to radiation to cure cancer of the lymphatic glands in the brain. Such cancer needs to be examined by a doctor, and her not doing so led to the deterioration of her health and further complications.

Also, two of his children suffer from webbed feet and underwent surgery. However, they are in need of further surgery when the family has the money to pay for the surgery and treatment.

This family has no regular fixed source of income.  The father is working hard to provide a living for his family and for their treatment, yet his attempts are not enough to fulfil their needs.

Mr Sadeq Jaafar and Basra Centre urgently seek support as follows:

  • Medical sponsorship of £34 (50,000 IQD approx) to improve the family’s living conditions

  • Financial assistance to the value of £100 (150,000 IQD approx) to provide for the daily needs of his family.

  • Financial assistance of £167 (250,000 IQD approx) for the treatment procedures for his children and wife

The staff of the Centre seek  compassionate donors to help relieve this family of their suffering
