During staff inspection visits to vulnerable and needy families, staff inspected the condition of the family of Naima Abd Mahsin and found that it suffers due to poverty, isolation and lack of support.

This elderly woman, living with her daughter who is 32 years old, complained of a lack of monetary resources. Their only income is that of social security given by the government, which amounts to 150,000 IQD (£100) every two months. It is insufficient to cover the costs of the family, especially due to the high living costs of the moment.

This woman lives in a small, run down house, ramshackle and falling into ruin.  The roof is made of palm fronds and wood, which allows rain water to leak into the house The house is also devoid of household essentials that are found in any basic home.

This poor lady cannot work in order to earn and provide a living for her and her daughter because of her old age and illness.  She is unable to move, and requires a wheelchair for mobility. She is in need of periodic treatment and checkups with doctors, but the difficult financial situation means that she is unable to follow-up and continue with her medical status.

This family is in need of:

-  Medical sponsorship to the value of £35.00 (approx. 50,000 IQD) for medical checkups and treatment.

-  Financial aid of £100 (approx. 150,000 IQD) to buy essentials for the house.

-  Financial assistance of  £125 (approx. 200,000 IQD) to restore the roof of the house.

The staff  hope the community can help to alleviate the suffering of the family.
