Whilst carrying out field visits to poor households, the staff from Basra Care and Advice Centre visited Mr Qasem Mohammed. They found Mr Mohammed living under very difficult conditions.
Mr. Qasem, his divorced daughter and her two-year-old disabled son rent a small house which costs 250,000 IQD (approx. £165) monthly, and lacks the most basic necessities. The daughter’s ex husband refuses to take responsibility or provide for his son.
This kind-hearted elderly father works hard as a day laborer to earn a basic income to provide for the needs of his family, and afford minimal treatment which his handicapped grandson requires.
This family is in need of the following financial support: -
- A medical sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £34) per month for the disabled grandchild.
- A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £135) to buy a refrigerator for them, especially for the hot months of summer.
Staff from Basra Citizen Care and Advice Centre will appreciate any support they can receive to support this kind grandfather and his family.
