For the third time a representative from Basra Citizen Care and Advice Centre visited Qurna to observe the poor living conditions of Khalaf and his family who continue to suffer from the harshness of life and cruelty

This sick man is responsible for the support of ten members of his family despite having to cope with his own illness. His mother and his brother suffer from physical disabilities and mental retardation. In addition, he takes care of his two sisters, his wife, and his five children aged between 3-14 years. Khalaf’s occupation is that of a farmer tending to his cattle.  His mother sells vegetables in the Justice Market to try to earn a little income towards supporting the family.  This poor family lives in a clay house with a tin roof

To relieve some of the burden on his family, he reluctantly had to send his sons to a relative in al-Zubayr district to take care of them and help them continue their education.

This family needs:

_  Monthly medical sponsorship of  50,000 IQD (approx. £35) for his disabled brother’s medical needs.

- Financial assistance amounting of 100,000 IQD (approx. £65) to purchase basic clothing and bedding for his children.

- Financial assistance amounting to 100,000 IQD (approx. £65) to buy a water cooler.

- Financial assistance amounting to 200,000 IQD (approx. £135) for the purchase of refrigerator.

- Financial assistance amounting to 150,000 IQD (approx. £100) for the purchase of an air cooler.
