UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stated:
“The one thing all children have in common is their rights. Every child has the right to survive and thrive, to be educated, to be free from violence and abuse, to participate and to be heard”.
For many orphans in Iraq the future is bleak. Sadness fills the hearts of these children as they are constrained to a life of despair and poverty. They have no money to buy school clothes, stationery and books, and thus are unable to attend school and gain an education – a child’s basic right.
With the backing and support of kind hearted and benevolent donors, Shakiry Charity hopes to minimise this situation, and turn those tears of sadness to smiles of joy and happiness!
By attending school, children will “survive and thrive” and in so doing, the cycle of poverty can be changed. You can make it possible for a child to attend school by supporting this humanitarian campaign.
