As part of the field visits to the poor families in the district of Garma Ali, the staff of Basra Citizens Advice and Care Centre visited the family of Mr. Maytham Shloo Abdullah, where they witnessed the humanitarian tragedy of this family.
The father and his wife are supported by a family of five children at varying stages of education. Maytham is suffering from hemorrhagic paralysis following a stroke whereby he lost his sight.
Due to their extreme poverty, the family lives temporarily in the house of one of his friends. The family is unable to afford the costs to complete construction of their own simple home, and are dependent on the assistance of good citizens.
This poor and patient man told us that his heart is filled with sorrow that he is such a poor citizen. He has nothing in the world, he has absolutely no income, and the family is forced to move from one house to another depending on the support of others. His few friends are also so poor that they are unable to spare any money for medical needs of Maytham’s family.
This family needs to: -
- A medical sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) monthly.
- Donations totaling 1,500,000 IQD (approx £1000) to complete the construction of the house.
- Donations totaling 500,000 IQD (approx. £335) to buy necessary household items.
Please reach out and help this very poor family living in such extreme poverty.
