This year the staff of Basra Citizens Care and Advice Centre are forcefully campaigning to raise funds to support children:

“Back into School – Back into Education”!

Results of a study have indicated that the number of children living below the poverty line has increased significantly.  Poor families are barely able to feed their children, and thus cannot provide financially for their children to attend school.  

Basra Centre staff are campaigning to change this situation – they aim to raise funds to provide children with the necessary financial means to buy uniforms, books and stationery in order to attend school and promote a healthy and cultural environment for a bright future.

Each student is in dire need of 50,000 IQD (approx. £30) – break-down as follows: -

- 25,000 IQD to buy his school clothes.

- 10,000 IQD to buy school shoes.

- 10,000 IQD to buy a school bag.

- 5,000 IQD for the purchase of stationery.
