Vodafone Ireland Foundation has launched 'World of Difference', an innovative new programme offering four Irish residents the chance to spend a year working for their chosen registered Irish charity. Vodafone will pay up to €40,000 per year to each of the four selected. World of Difference encourages applications from people across the country, who can demonstrate the necessary passion, skills and commitment to make a real difference. If successful, while carrying out your dream job, you will be offered a year’s salary, capped at €40,000 as well as expenses necessary to carry out your role.
Today Fm’s Ray D’Arcy, along with Roisin Ingle of the Irish Times and Newstalk and Jan Mottram of Vodafone Ireland Foundation, will sit on the final judging panel.
Jan Mottram, Chairperson of Vodafone Ireland Foundation said “Since 2003, Vodafone Ireland Foundation has been working with Irish charities and from informal research we are aware that this programme is very much welcomed by charities throughout the country. For the first year we are focussing solely on Irish based projects. We are searching for people with a definite project and charity in mind, one that will help change people’s lives. Equally we call on charities to think about projects that would make all the difference to their work. Perhaps someone on their board or volunteering with them could make a dream a reality
Entries for the Vodafone Ireland Foundation World of Difference will be received through an online application via the Vodafone Ireland Foundation website at www.vodafoneirelandfoundation.ie with a closing date of Tuesday 13th February 2007. Winners will be announced in April and will begin their new jobs in summer 2007.Vodafone Ireland Foundation was established in 2003 and is the first Foundation of its kind in Ireland. In the first three years of its existence the Vodafone Ireland Foundation has funded 91 projects throughout Ireland, spending €1.8m. Over the next few years the Vodafone Ireland Foundation will focus on working with children, young people and their families facing adversity.
