Winter Warmth Campaign

A blanket and a coat for each Orphan – a heater for every family!

The Senior Management at Shakiry Charity in London has launched a new humanitarian campaign to provide Winter Warmth for destitute families in Iraq.  Whilst summer temperatures in Iraq are unbearably hot, in contract winters can be intolerably cold and miserable.  Deprived families and orphans living in old and dilapidated houses suffer during the harsh winters, barely able to keep warm or dry.

Shakiry Charity has launched its new Winter Campaign in an endeavor to provide relief to those who are in distress during this harsh time of the year.  We are seeking kind-hearted and generous Donors who will emphasize the needs of underprivileged people, and reach out and support them to make the next few months bearable. 

Orphans and families in Iraq will receive winter support by means of the Shakiry Voucher System.  Vouchers will be distributed to beneficiaries who are registered with one of our 5 Citizen Care and Advice Centres (based in Najaf, Bayaa, Grayaat, Sadr City, and Basra).  The value of each voucher is 25,000 IQD and they can be redeemed at Shakiry Charity Shops.

Below is a list of the items most needed this winter, along with the corresponding donation value.  We ask for your generous support for the Winter Warmth Campaign for 2017.

      £20 will provide for one warm blanket for an orphan

      £20 will provide a winter coat for an orphan

      £30 will buy a heater to keep a family warm

      £50 will buy a boiler to provide a family with hot water
