Bac Giang (VNA) - A voluntary US delegation from Princeton University has completed a field trip in the northern province of Bac Giang to learn about life in Viet Nam, especially for Agent Orange victims.
The delegation visited and presented gifts to three families with AO affected children and participated in upgrading Lao Ho commune's main road.
The visit helped them understand more about Vietnamese people and consequences of the war, said a delegation's representative, adding that they will organise more activities in the US to help Vietnamese people, especially young AO affected victims.
In another programme, a team of 12 students from the national University of Singapore on July 14 donated blood at the Red Cross Office in the northern mountainous Ha Giang province in an effort to encourage young people nationwide to participate in the blood donation programme.
In Phong Quang commune, they visited and presented gift to families of invalids and fallen soldiers, renovated houses and rebuilt roads for the residents.
They also lived with the ethnic minorities of Mong, Giay, Tay and Lo Lo to learn and experience these peoples' cultures and carried out many activities in coordination with local students.-Enditem
