Staff from Basra Citizens Care and Advice Centre paid repeated visits to the family of the patient Mutahv / Mithm Shlo to monitor whether there has been any progress/response following an initial call of distress posted previously in our weekly news.

They found that the patient’s condition has deteriorated significantly. His kidneys have ceased to function, and he now requires treatment to flush them twice every week. Due to this condition, and increasing weakness, the patient is unable to work.
Through the generosity of a kind Donor (may God reward him) their house has been repaired and he is now able to live there with his family.
However, as he is unable to work, he cannot provide support for his wife and children, who are in dire need of clothing and food.
This desperate husband and father is appealing to kind hearted benevolent Donors to reach out and support this family who are in dire need of food, clothing and the burden of medical treatment.
This family urgently needs to:
- Monthly sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx £30) to cover medical costs.
- A once off donation of 200,000 IQD (approx £120) to buy food and clothing for the children.
