The staff of the Sadr City branch visited the family home of Mrs. D.R.H, who is living in dire conditions.
This struggling lady and her husband, who is suffering from a number of chronic diseases that have hindered him from work, care for their four children.
The family was unable to obtain any government assistance or legal benefits because they did not register their marriage contract and therefore could not register their children's births.
 
The husband is suffering from hypertension, diabetes and has undergone several operations in the abdomen and the ribs. He has a fracture in one of the ribs, but has been trying to work and has not been able to find anything except searching people's garbage for obsolete things that he could sell to provide a living for his family.
This impoverished family lives under the "poverty line" and desperately needs help out of their misery and lack of basic necessities such as food, clothing and medicine.
 
They need assistance in providing the following:
 
- A financial assistance worth 500K  IQD (£330)  to cover the roof of the room they live in now covered with corrugated metal.
 
- A financial assistance worth 100K  IQD, (£65) towards applying for  identity cards and documenting their marriage contract.
 
- A financial assistance worth 225K  IQD, (£150) to buy a refrigerator urgently, especially in this very hot summer.
 
- A financial aid worth 100K  IQD, (£65) to buy some clothes necessary for all family members, especially the children.
 
The staff of the Sadr branch and the family appeal to the compassion and charity of good people to extend a helping hand to this poor family, which appeals to us all.
