Staff from Sadr City Branch visited the house of the widow Salwa, Kh. K who supports her four orphans.  They are living with poverty, destitution and illness.

This mother suffers from kidney disease (renal impairment).  In the past medical authorities have requested her to undertake the necessary medical tests, but she does not have the means to be able to pay for these tests.

This family lives below the poverty line.  They survive only on a small amount of social welfare, which is not enough to meet their daily needs.

The family lives in rented accommodation.  This costs 250. 000 IQD (approx. £165) per month, and is in addition to the needs of the children in terms of food and clothing.

One of her daughters is suffering from a fracture in her foot after an iron window fell on her. She needs surgery, but does not even have transport fees to attend medical check ups.

The house lacks the most basic necessities such as bedding, blankets and essential household items.

This family urgently needs:

- A donation to buy a Water tank costing 100.000 IQD (approx.  £65).

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £65)to buy blankets and mattresses.

- Monthly sponsorship for each orphans of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per child.  (There are 4 orphans).
