A Mother suffering from destitution and disease, appeals to kind hearted people to support her in her ordeal.
Staff from Basra Branch visited the family of Haneen M.T. whose husband suffers from loss of sight due to black water in the retina. This condition necessitates continuous ongoing treatment, and if left unattended, the person can go blind.
Haneen’s family live in a rundown, and dilapidated house. The roof has been constructed from rusty corrugated iron sheets. The home lacks many basic household necessities such as a traditional bread-maker, a cooker, a TV and bedding.
This hardworking mother supports her unemployed husband and five young children. Some of the children are at school and in need of school supplies (clothing, books, bags) which the mother tries to provide despite the fact that there is no steady income. This poor lady is willing to lend her hand to sewing in order to earn money which will help her to support her husband overcome the hardships of life. However, to realise this Haneen needs to find a source of income (which the family cannot afford) to enable her to buy a sewing machine.
This family needs: -
- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £ 135) to buy a sewing machine.
- A donation of 160.000 IQDs (approx. £ 105) to buy a cooker.
- A donation of 180.000 IQDs (approx. £120) to buy a television.
- A donation of 120.000 IQDs (approx. £80) to buy a traditional bread-maker.
Staff at the branch, and this poor family appeal to the kindness of people to help them overcome the hardships of life.
