Staff from the branch visited the widow (Ibtisam. D. M) and her 3 orphans who have been living under very difficult conditions following the death of husband.

The children, who all attend school, are aged between 8- 16 years old. One of the children suffers from a blocked heart valve.

The family live in a house which is owned by a kind benefactor.  The roof of the house is constructed from corrugated tin and the home lacks basic necessities such as mattresses, a cooker, a washing machine and a refrigerator which the family is unable to purchase as they have no source of income.

The widow is trying to find work to support her children, and also to set an example to her children on how to live in dignity.

This family is in dire need of:  

1- Ongoing monthly sponsorship of 25,000 IQD (approx. £20) per month per orphan.

 2- A donation of 175,000 IQD (approx. £120)to buy a cooker.

3- A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx.£80) to buy a washing machine. 

4- A donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £200) to buy a refrigerator.

5- A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £80) to buy blankets and bed covers.
