Basra Branch:

A follow-up visit to the home of Mr. Jabbar, showed that this family, (comprising five children aged between 7-15 years) continue to suffer under their harsh living conditions.

Their home is unsuitable for habitation, lacking many basic requirements (such as a fridge and a cooker). The father supported his family to the best of his ability, but due to a foot injury he sustained, he now is unable to work. One of his sons left school in order to earn an income through selling plastic bags in the market place.

The family receives a very modest 346,000 IQD (approx. £230) every two months from Social Security.  This is barely enough to cover their needs of food, clothing and medicine.

This family needs:-

1- A donation of 100,000 IQD (approx. £70) to buy school materials for the children.

2- A donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £200) to buy a fridge.

3- A donation of 175,000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a cooker.
