Basra Branch: 

Widow appeals for support to overcome the hardships of life. 

Staff from Basra Branch visited the home of the widow, Khadija.Z.N and  her family.  

Khadija has suffered much hardship since her husband's death.  Her children, aged between 11 – 18 years old still attend school.  The family lives in rented accommodation costing 200,000 IQD (approx. £135) per month.  Their home lacks basic necessities such as a cooker, a kerosene stove, a washing machine, blankets and bed covers. They have no financial income apart from help from some benefactors, which is insufficient to meet their living requirements. One of her daughters is short-sighted and requires ongoing medical checks.

This widow need and her orphans need : -

- A monthly sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £35) to pay for her sick daughter’s medical costs.

- A monthly sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month for each orphan.

- A donation of 175.000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a washing machine.

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £65) for the purchase of a kerosene stove. 

- A donation of 175.000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a cooker.

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £65) for the purchase of mattresses and blankets.

Staff at the branch appeal to good- hearted people to extend a helping hand to this widow.
