Sadr City Branch:
The staff visited the home of Mrs Jamila, M.A who lives under difficult conditions. She suffers from a number of diseases (heart failure, hypertension and diabetes) and is responsible for the care and support of her four orphans, one of whom is her orphaned grandchild. The children all attend school.
This poor family has been devastated by disease, poverty and destitution. They have no steady income apart from a small social security benefit, which is insufficient to meet the basic needs of food, drink and clothing for the children.
In desperation, Jamila sought help from the staff of Sadr City Branch after she found all other doors closed to her and her family.
This family desperately needs: -
- Ongoing monthly sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month for each orphan.
- A donation of 225.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a washing machine.
- A donation of 225.000 IQD (approx. £150) to buy a cooker.
- Ongoing medical sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) to pay the monthly treatment for the sick mother.
Jamila hopes that people with compassionate hearts will be able to reach out and provide support for some of the family’s basic needs.
