Basra Branch

Staff from Basra Branch visited the widow, Widad  K.  They found her and her three orphans living under extremely harsh and difficult conditions following the killing of her husband.  As yet she has not received compensation as the death of her husband has not been officially documented.

Widad has sole responsibility for providing support to her three children aged between 6-12 years old.  One of the children still attends school and needs basic school supplies.

This poor widow and her family live in a house built without planning permission.  The house lacks basic commodities such as a cooker, a washing machine, a shower, etc.   The family has no financial resources other than the help they receive from generous benefactors.

This family needs : -

- Ongoing monthly sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per orphan per month.

- A donation of 175.000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a cooker.

- A donation of 175.000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a washing machine.

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £75) to buy a traditional oven.

- A donation of 250.000 IQD (approx.£165) to buy mattresses.

The staff of the branch appeals to kind hearted people to help this family overcome some of its difficult living conditions.
