Najaf Branch
Staff from Najaf Branch made a follow-up visit to the family of a destitute woman, Kadhima A.I., who live in the al-Askari shanty town.
Her husband died in a terrorist act in 2005 in Baghdad and left her a widow to provide for five children, two of whom are still in school. The other children have left their studies to do building work to earn an income to provide an income for the family.
The family live in a run-down house unfit for habitation, but circumstances oblige them to remain there. On asking her about her most important needs she answered:
- A donation of 250,000 IQD (approx. £165) to buy a refrigerator
- A donation of 300,000 IQD (approx. £200) to buy a cooker
- A donation of 150,000 IQD (approx. £100) to buy bedding and covers
Kadhima appeals to good people to extend a helping hand and help her in filling her pressing needs.
