The charity also trains members of the community to maintain the lights once they have been fitted.
The students hit upon the idea after the topic of recycling came up in some of their subjects.
Bradon Forest's arts manager Jennifer Cady said: "As a council the students try to do a couple of things for charity and they have been working on recycling in some of their cross-subjects like geography and PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education) and that inspired them to have a recycling theme for the fashion show.
"They made all the costumes at home during the evenings and they have been rehearsing at lunch times. The designs they have come up with are fantastic and I'm sure the show will be a success."
Among the materials used to make the students' costumes include newspaper and old clothes.
Kayla Rejek, 14, said: "We've used recyclable materials such as bin bags and things like that because we were learning about recycling in science, geography and PSHCE.
"There have been about 15 to 20 of us involved and we have been working on the costumes for a couple of weeks. They look really good, but my favourite is a dress worn by a girl called Harriett, which has a hood and is made out of bin bags."
Fellow student Chelsea Woolford, 15, said: "We are just trying to get across the fact that there are less fortunate people than ourselves in Africa and we thought the fashion show would help."
