Among the field visits performed by branch staff was one to the destitute family of Karima Sh. They found that she lives in a flat rented for 250,000 IQD (approx. £165) per month.
There is no breadwinner in the family, save for her daughter who is a nurse and provides as best she can for her family and for her father, who is disabled as a result of electric shock torture he suffered at the hands of the former regime, though he has no substantiating papers to confirm this.
The family has no income apart from a basic social security benefit which does not suffice to pay the rent and cost of medical treatment.
They need:
- Ongoing monthly medical sponsorship for the disabled man of 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) per month.
- A donation of 50,000 IQD (approx £35) to supply the needs of the family
Branch staff beseech good people to extend a helping hand to this desperate mother..
