Bayaa Branch:

Among the field visits carried out by the branch staff, a visit was made to the family of the venerable Wissam G.  They found that he lives in a dilapidated room in a house built without planning permission, and which lacks basic amenities.

This poor man lost his wife and is now left to care for his 7 orphans.  He appeared to not know the reason for his wife’s death.

As he is the sole carer for his children, and as it is not safe to leave his daughters at home alone, he is unable to go out to work.  The older children (boys) work at road intersections selling tissue paper and water to earn some money.  Other than this small pittance, this family has no regular income apart from a social welfare benefit, which is insufficient to meet the needs of the family in terms of food and drink.

This family needs:

 -A monthly sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £ 15) for each orphan (x7)

- A donation of 300.000 IQD (approx. £200) to buy a refrigerator .

- A donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £ 65) towards the needs of the orphans.

- The branch staff and the family appeal to people of charity to help this family out of its tragedy.
