Among the field visits carried out by the branch staff was a visit to the family of the widow, Rana A.  They found that she lives in a room in her parents' apartment, which they rent for 250.000 IQD (approx. £180) per month.
 
This widow suffers under difficult living conditions. Her three orphans continue their school education. Her eldest daughter- who is twelve-years-old suffers from a sudden rise and fall in blood sugar in addition to a wheat allergy, which led to the postponement of her studies for a second round. There is no breadwinner in this family, nor any source of income except for a small pension, which is not enough to meet their needs.
 
This family needs: -
 
- Ongoing monthly medical sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) to pay for medical treatment for the sick daughter.
- A donation of 250,000 IQD (approx. £180) to buy a refrigerator for the family.
 
The Branch staff and the family appeal to compassionate people to help lift this family out of their tragic circumstances.
