Staff from Bayaa Branch paid a follow-up visit to the widow, Huda R, and her family to see how they were faring.
They found that she continues to live with her three orphans in a house she inherited. Her children are fortunate to attend school. The youngest son has a congenital heart disease. Although his condition was treated surgically he is now suffering from a pulmonary condition. His illness requires medical follow-ups periodically, but his family have been unable to afford this, as they did not have a fixed income apart from a small social welfare assistance. This income, which was insufficient to meet the family’s most basic requirements, has now stopped.
This family are in urgent need of:
- Ongoing medical sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £35) per month for the sick son’s treatment
- A cash donation of 100.000 IQD (approx. £70) to buy a meat grinder and utensils to enable the widow to make and sell kebabs to earn a living.
The branch staff and the widow appeal to people of charity to extend a helping hand to this family in their time of need.
