As part of the Charity's programmes, staff from the Branch visited the family of Hassan M A who is 60 years old and lives in a dwelling not fit for habitation.

He has 2 daughters, one of them suffering from viral hepatitis C due to constant blood transfusions.

The father does not earn enough money to pay the cost of the house rent and the costs of his daughter's treatment, in addition to family expenses. The daughter's treatment costs 250,000 IQD (approx. £180) most months due to its rarity or unavailability in hospitals.

This obliges them to buy it from pharmacies at their own expense.

This family suffers from a limited means of existence and bad living conditions. They need:

- 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) ongoing monthly medical sponsorship for each daughter (x2)

- 150,000 IQD (approx. £110) urgent donation to help to pay for the treatment

- 125,000 IQD (approx. £90) donation to buy a television

- 200,000 IQD (approx. £145) donation to buy a washing machine

Branch staff and the father beseech good folk to help them.
