Do not fear to give a little.
As the daylight hours grow shorter, and winter cold sets in to wrap us in its icy grip, Shakiry Charity, together with our branches in Iraq, begins our annual humanitarian campaign to provide Winter Warmth to the many poor families, orphans and the sick and elderly people in Iraq.
There are so many unfortunate, destitute families and children living in make-shift rooms and houses not fit for purpose – homes where the roof leaks and the icy winds blow through thin walls and ill-fitting doors. Homes lacking mattresses, and sufficient blankets. Homes where children go hungry to school and bed.
This year staff and volunteers will distribute food and clothing vouchers to families registered with the Branches. The voucher system enables families to retain their dignity by having the freedom to “purchase” according to their needs.
The Shakiry Charity Shops will also offer winter clothes, blankets, heaters, mattresses and other necessary items to provide Winter Warmth needs.
We are seeking donations of £35 (approx. 50,000 Iraqi Dinars) which will provide for the winter cold needs for one poor family.
The poor people of Iraq are reliant on the generosity of kind benefactors to support this Humanitarian Campaign through donating £35 to help a family survive and keep warm this winter.
