Branch staff visited the home of Shima K S who lives with her family in difficult circumstances, enduring poverty and illness.

She raises her large family consisting of her sick husband and five children.  Her husband was paralysed in a work accident.  He requires regular monthly treatment to drain blood from his chest, costing 90,000 IQD (approx. £65) per month.

Some of the children still attend school, needing many provisions.

The family lives in an inherited house which they share with four families, in one room. The house lacks many necessities like a cooker, washing machine, bedding, fans and a fridge.

This family receives no social security benefits, and they have no income save the money they receive from help well-wishers.

They urgently need:

- Ongoing monthly sponsorship of 90,000 IQD (approx. £65) to pay for the husband’s medical treatment

- A donation of 200,000 IQD (approx. £145) to buy a cooker

- A donation of 165,000 IQD (approx. £120) to buy a washing machine

- A donation of 150,000 IQD (approx. £110) to buy bedding

- A donation of 160,000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy ceiling fans

- A donation of 250,000 IQD (approx. £180) to buy a fridge

Branch staff hope that good people will help this poor destitute family who endure very difficult circumstances.
