Sadr City Branch:

The branch staff visited the home of Mrs. Najat J.K. and her family. Najat suffers from several diseases (osteoporosis in the vertebrae, allergies and thyroid dysfunction) as well a disabled hand since childhood.

Her husband W.KH.K. suffers from osteoporosis in the spine and spinal slippage. 

These poor parents are responsible for their six children - three of them still attend school.  The eldest daughter had to leave school because of the poor health of the parents.

The family lives in a rundown house which was built without permission. The roof is about to collapse.  Water leaks in from all sides of the house during winter. They borrowed a sum of four million dinars in order to get this miserable shelter.

The father works as a taxi driver for their relatives. They only have a social welfare assistance that is not enough to meet the cost of their medical treatments.

This family needs:

- Monthly medical sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) for both the husband and wife.
- A donation of 150,000 IQD (approx. £110) to pay towards  treatment and medical reviews.
- A donation of 75,000 IQD (approx. £54) to buy some blankets and mattresses.
- A sponsorship for the girls' education of 50.000 IQD (approx. £35) per month.
 
The branch staff and the family appeal to people of charity to help them meet their living requirements.
