Shakiry Charity for Social Solidarity takes this opportunity to extend to you warmest congratulations and blessings during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Dear Friends, this year the blessed month of Ramadan passes amongst us during exceedingly difficult days for the entire world.  In particular, our Islamic nation, most of which suffers from wars, poverty, destitution and disease, is suffering.

Thank you for your solidarity during this time.  Sadly, with enforced lockdown, as it is in most countries in the world, we are unable to invite you to join us at our annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner.   

Ramadan is the time of year when our greatest focus and efforts are concentrated on fundraising to feed hungry and destitute families and orphans. This is an unprecedented year when families have very little or no income at all to buy food.  There are now so many more penniless families and hungry mouths to feed due to the lockdown restrictions preventing people from working.   

We are hoping that with your financial support, and the unfailing commitment of the staff and volunteers at our Branches in Iraq who are going out and delivering Ramadan Food Baskets, we will be able to reach out and provide relief from hunger to as many families and orphans as possible, during the holy month of Ramadan.

We are thankful for,  and will graciously accept any and all donations you are able to give towards our Food Basket Program.  Each Basket costs £35, equivalent to 50,000 (50) Iraqi Dinars.

Our hope at this time is that “as tributaries of a river flowing together” for a common cause, we will be able to reach out through our donations, and quench the thirst and hunger of poor families and orphans, and bring a smile of hope to those who need us most of all.
