Staff from Basra Branch visited the family of Salama FH, a widow living under difficult circumstances due to the Corona pandemic ravaging our country.

Salama has been taking care of her orphaned son, who suffers from a psychological condition.

They live in a rundown house built without permission. The roof of the house does not protect them from the summer heat, or the winter cold, and the house lacks many basic living commodities that the widow cannot afford.

Salama also suffers from chronic diabetes and requires monthly treatment.

This family has no income other than a social welfare benefit of 190,000 IQD (approx. £130) which they receive every two months.  They rely on help from kind benefactors, but even this is insufficient to cover their simple living expenses.

This family is in need of:

 - A medical sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) per month.

 - A donation of 165.000 IQD (approx. £115) to buy a cooker.

 - A donation of 150.000 IQD (approx. £105) to repair the roof.

Staff from the branch appeal to all compassionate people to help this widow out of her difficult situation.
