Basra Staff paid a follow-up visit to the widow Nasra M.A. and her family.   They found that this widow and her family continue to suffer immensely as a result of their difficult living conditions.

Following the death of her husband, Nasra was left to provide support for her four orphans aged 6-13. The widow, herself suffers from disease and needs treatment monthly.

This family lives in rundown accommodation, built without permission, and lacking many basic necessities that the widow cannot afford to buy due to her destitution. 

The family has no source of income other than a very nominal assistance they receive from the social welfare department every two months, and help from kind benefactors.  This is insufficient to meet their living expenses.

This family needs:

- Ongoing monthly sponsorship of 50,000 IQD (approx. £35) to pay for Nasra’s medical treatment.

- Ongoing monthly sponsorship for the four orphans of 25,000 IQD (approx. £18) per orphan (x4) per month.

- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx. £140) to buy an air cooler.

The branch staff appeal to benevolent people not to hesitate in helping this desperate widow.
