Bayaa Branch

Among the inspection visits carried out by the branch staff, was a visit to the widow Hashimia, K and her family.  Hashimia lives in a house built without permission, together with her only son who attends school.

This family has no fixed income apart from a small social welfare benefit, which does not meet the simplest of their living requirements.

The widow suffers from an illness which requires ongoing treatment.  Because of her poverty she has been unable to pay for the treatment she requires, since she had surgery.  And, because of her illness, she is unable to work and earn an income.

This widow needs: -

- Ongoing monthly sponsorship of 50.000 IQD (approx. £35) to pay for Hashimia’s treatment.

- A donation of 100,000 IQD (approx. £70) to buy some necessary household supplies.

Staff from the branch and the widow appeal to people of charity to help her out of her misery.
