Widow and mother of two needs help following a stroke
As part of the field visits our staff undertake to evaluate the wellbeing of needy people, staff from Sadr City Branch paid a visit to a widow (Shaima, Kh, A.). This 44 years old mother has two orphaned children aged 7 years and 10 years. She does not receive an income other than her late husband's pension, which amounts to 100.000 IQD (approx. £60) per month. This does not cover the family’s needs.
The family lives in a dwelling built without planning permission. Shaima has suffered a stroke. She is unable to afford the family's needs and the cost of her medical check-ups.
This family is appealing, through Shakiry Charity for Social Solidarity, to benefactors to please reach out and help them.
Their needs are:
- Ongoing monthly sponsorship for the two orphans of 25,000 IQD (approx. £15) each orphan
- A donation of 200.000 IQD (approx £120) to pay for the mother’s medical check-ups
-A donation of 250 000 IQD (approx. £150) to purchase a washing machine
