Appeal from Widow and her four orphans for help.

Basra Branch :

During a recent field visit to assess the living conditions of families and orphans, staff from Basra Branch paid a visit to the widow, Nour A.Z.

They learnt that following the death of her husband, the widow became solely responsible for the care of her four orphans.  One of her daughters suffers from asthma and requires medical treatment. Two other daughters attend school. The family live in a rented house costing 200,000 IQD (approx. £115) per month.

The house lacks essential commodities which Nour cannot afford to buy due to her financial poverty. She does not receive a salary or any financial income apart from the help she receives from kind benefactors. This is insufficient to meet their needs. The widow suffers as a result of the family’s harsh living conditions, and needs someone to stand by her and lend a helping hand.

This family is in urgent need of: 

• Ongoing orphan sponsorship of 25.000 IQD (approx. £15) per month for each orphan (x4)
• A donation of 50.000 IQD (approx. £30) to buy foodstuffs. 
• A donation of 100.000 IQD ( approx. £60) to buy mattresses.
• A donation of 100.000 IQD ( approx. £60) to buy clothes. 
• A donation of 300.000 IQD ( approx. £170) to buy a refrigerator. 

The staff of the branch and the widow hope that kind hearted benefactors will reach out to give her a helping hand to overcome her difficult situation.
